#highlights: Lana Del Rey on 2012 (videos, performences and more)!

It is hard to imagine the music scene without Lana Del Rey nowadays, specially because homegirl managed to, in her own way, break into the mainstream world in a pretty hipster fashion. And even though, criticism was raining over her not-so-good live performances from time to time, Lana still managed to close a pretty good year for her.

By "pretty", I mean that she has, so far, sold nearly three million copies of her debut album "Born To Die", so with and without the critics, our girl killed it. So haters, for one second, just shut the f*** up and enjoy the "ride" of Lana Del Rey (only true fans would get that reference fo'sho').

After making a lot of buzz with "Video Games", Lana unleashed her masterpiece "Born To Die" and the world went cray-cray, she was even booked for a gig at SNL without her record out just yet!

And yeah, we all know how that ended, right? So let's skip that performance and instead go ahead and enjoy her intricate "Blue Jeans", one of the big promises of "Born To Die"...

Later on, Lana brought the Kennedy story to the 21st century with a pretty modern spin of the story, background music was "National Anthem" of course...

Lana also wanted to visit the dark side and opted for releasing "Summertime Sadness" which was... Pretty interesting...

Another clip that also got lots of buzz was Lana's pretty unique "Carmen", the story of a hooker that advised Lana to not be like her... Or that's what I got from it anyways...

Another important aspect of Lana's 2012 was her input on the fashion industry, participating on numerous photoshoots for diverse  magazines and even being the face of H&M, for which she decided to cover "Blue Velvet" with the video below...

And finally, Lana got to release her WAY MORE indie record, the flawless "Born to Die: The Paradise Edition" and she easily crowned herself as my favorite female breakthrough of 2012. Now let's just wait and see what's in store for her on 2013!
